Christ Built and Purchased the Church
The church belongs to Jesus because He promised to build it, purchased it with His blood, and rules as its only head. It is not a human denomination, business, or social club. The universal church consists of all whom the Lord saves, while local congregations gather in identifiable places to follow apostolic teaching.

Christians and Churches of Christ
The New Testament uses descriptions such as disciples, saints, Christians, the body of Christ, the church of God, and churches of Christ. These identify relationship and ownership rather than a modern brand. Congregations seek to be simply Christ’s people, speaking where Scripture speaks and refusing creeds that bind human tradition.

Local Organization
Qualified elders shepherd and oversee each local congregation, deacons serve in appointed work, and evangelists preach the word. Elders are not a clergy class over multiple independent churches. Every member has gifts and responsibilities, and all leaders remain accountable to the Chief Shepherd.

Worship and Work
The early church devoted itself to apostolic teaching, fellowship, breaking bread, prayer, singing, and generous giving. Its mission includes proclaiming the gospel, building up believers, and caring for needy saints. These works must be carried out under Christ’s authority rather than reshaping the church around entertainment or cultural pressure.

Unity in Truth and Love
Jesus prayed for unity, but biblical unity is not agreement to ignore truth. Believers preserve the Spirit’s unity by humility, patience, love, and shared submission to the one Lord, faith, and baptism. The remedy for division is continual return to Christ and apostolic teaching.
